Our Scientific Mission
The EndoECM consortium is a pioneering global effort dedicated to revolutionizing endometriosis research. By focusing on high-resolution analysis, modeling and targeting of the extracellular matrix and human tissue samples, we aim to uncover the underlying biological mechanisms of the disease and accelerate the journey toward a definitive cure.
The Critical Shift in Awareness
The Silent Crisis
Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 individuals assigned female at birth. It remains one of the most under-researched yet debilitating conditions of our time.
Scientific Advocacy
We bridge the gap between clinical suffering and scientific breakthroughs by raising awareness about the vital role of human tissue donation.
Fostering Understanding
Enhancing knowledge of tissue structure and cellular mechanics leads to earlier diagnosis and personalized therapeutic strategies for patients worldwide.
Scientific Frontiers
Extracellular Matrix (ECM) Focus
We analyze the structural and biochemical composition of the ECM to identify unique signatures that differentiate endometriotic lesions and diseased endometrium from normal tissue.
Generating key data in Women's Health
As part of observational clinical studies, we look into subsets of disease, progression and response to treatment to better understand how to treat it.
PathECM
Collaborative research utilizing high-resolution imaging, physics-based modeling and biochemical ECM construction approaches to mimic the diseased niche: by building the environment in which cells act diseased, we enable the discovery of novel targets and pathways to cure diseases like endometriosis.
Therapeutic Goals
Our ultimate objective is to translate these findings into new drugs that provide a definitive cure for endometriosis and beyond. Using our PathECM platform, we test compounds that can reverse fibrosis and restore normal cell communication of healthy tissue.
